Teesworks Skills Academy

Teesworks Skills Academy has been established to help give the local people of the Tees Valley the best skills and training possible to enable them to take advantage of the new jobs and opportunities that are being created on the Teesworks site.

Operating as a one-stop-shop, the academy links jobseekers, local employment hubs and skills providers to create a world-class workforce for the future, equipped with the expertise businesses at the Teesworks site will need to grow and succeed.

The Teesworks Skills Academy offers unique access to a complete network of employment and training providers across the Tees Valley with a broad range of specialisms relevant to the requirements of Teesworks.

Collectively, the partnership can deliver learning from entry level through to specialist industry skills creating a clear career pathway from school to retirement. We also have access to a broad range of funding sources to support industry with recruitment and upskilling of current staff.

With the Education Training Collective as the lead delivery partner, the consortium comprises Darlington College, Hartlepool College of Further Education (HCFE), Middlesbrough College including TTE, Redcar and Cleveland College (RCC), Stockton Riverside College (SRC) including NETA Training Group, Learning Curve Group, Teesside University and Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council Training and Employment Hubs to develop a skills plan to coordinate training and recruitment across the region and work with organisations to match employers with potential employees for the site.
